Last updated June 10, 2008 Over the next few months, our pages will be going through some changes and updates. At times, some pages may not be available or may have a different format. Please be patient as we work to upgrade our site.
RACING AT THE ALL TRUCK NATIONALS That’s right, MRR has been invited to put on seven exhibition runs August 8, 9 and 10 at the Carlisle All Truck nationals. The event format includes two runs on Friday, three Saturday and two more on Sunday. This will be single runs on a short course with a combination of hard and soft surfaces, a couple of rolling jumps and U-turns. ( Racer’s note: my suggestion is to take two sets of tires, one set less aggressive than the other.) If this show is well received by the show committee and the spectators we will be invited back with the possibility of it becoming a more aggressive mud track. Ten trucks (plus one alternate)will compete by invitation only. Those trucks will have the opportunity to be paid up to $250 for participating in all seven runs. ATTENTION: all trucks are welcome to attend, but will not compete for the $250. If you think you would like to attend, please let Jay know. All trucks attending will receive 5 free passes for the weekend. Primitive camping is allowed at the grounds and showers are available. We are currently pursuing a hotel to give group rates. You cannot register for this portion of the All Truck Nationals on the Carlisle Events Website, this exhibition is being managed by MRR exclusively. NOTE: NO ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED ON THE GROUNDS.
FATHER’S DAY DRAGS ADDED Drag races will be held along with all usual types of racing on June 15 at Smoke Run. The drags will NOT be for points, so the classes will be modified as listed below: Class 1—Street Class 2– Stock Class 3—Prostock / Modified Class 4—Super Modified / Open
JEFFERSON COUNTY ADDED The 2008 schedule now includes the Jefferson County Fair on Thursday night, July 17th at 7pm. There will be an Obstacle, Good ’Ol Boys and Side-by-Side drags. The Drags will use the same 4 classes that are listed above for the Father’s Day Featrure. The drags won’t be for points, but will give locals a place to race like we have at the Centre County Grange Fair.
CENTRE GRANGE ON THE CALENDAR AGAIN The Centre County Grange Fair has invited MRR back again to hold Drag Races. These will be for points and all regular classes will be run Tuesday, August 26 at 7:00 pm.
MAKE-A-WISH BENEFIT IS BACK Raffle tickets for the 6th Annual Make-A-Wish Benefit are $10 each. A total of 2000 are being sold with $10,000 in cash prizes being given away. Please take as many as possible to sell (I would like to see each points racer helping out). Prizes to be given to the top ticket seller. We have raised over $22,000 in the past 5 years. This is our most ambitious raffle yet, so let’s make it a success.
