2010 Rules Update
There's only been one addition to the 2009 rule set for the 2010 season. The
current version of the rules for all MRR events is now posted on the Rules
Page. If you're thinking of being a first time racer with us this summer,
please read and pay attention to the rules of racing. All vehicles are tech
inspected prior to registration and the less time spent arguing about the
rules, the more time spent racing that day.
The only rule change for this year is a clarification for General Rule of Racing
#12. It has been changed to read:
" 12. A driver that is registered in a class and breaks down may use
another person's vehicle as long as the vehicle meets the class
requirements and is not registered in that class for the day. The
vehicle must also be the same style of race vehicle so not to gain an
unfair advantage. "
An example of this is Todd Rabert (just cause it's fun to pick on him)
having access to two trucks "War Pig" and "Gone Milkin' ". Todd can’t
register the War Pig for Open drag races then run the Gone Milkin’ truck
instead.
The trucks were built with different characteristics for certain events and may
give an advantage.
Thank you to everyone who attended the Drivers' Meeting and any input that
was given to continue to improve the racing at Smoke Run and other MRR event
venues.
Other info
After talking to the Centre County Grange Fair Board, we're disappointed to
announce that we will not be returning to the fairgrounds this summer for racing.
Our mud racers and the new racers that we bring in every year look forward
to the annual event that provides a different setting for our style of
side-by-side drag races. Any questions or issues about this decision can be
addressed to the Centre County Grange Fair Board at 814-364-9212.
We've had continuing problems with updating the information on our website.
Most of this is due to the fact that we're not computer gurus and the fact
that the web-site designer/maintainer continues to do overseas tours
courtesy of the United States Army. As you can see on some of the pages,
we're now making a little more progress in putting on more recent photos.
Cathy, our track photographer, continues to supply us with her shots of the
trucks and cars in action in the mud. These photos are also for sale from
her and she maintains albums for prints to be reordered. Please see her next
to the "Food Bus" at the first race. These photos make great thank you gifts
for sponsors and also are purchased by many kids who want the racers'
autographs on race day.
Hopefully you've had a chance to visit the Muddy Run channel on YouTube. If
you haven't, the link is up above for you to copy into your web browser. There
are a variety of events posted so you can see what we do at the track if you haven't been
there. Check it out and see what you've been missing. If you're a racer,
family/friends of a racer or someone who loves coming to see the MRR action,
we hope that you enjoy the postings. There should be more to come in the
future.
